What creates conditions that lead to illness?
I now realize that there is never a single factor that sends someone down the rabbit hole of chronic illness, as the image shows.
Instead, chronic disease is the result of the perfect storm of stressors and traumatic experiences that accumulate and exceed a person’s ability to adapt metabolically and psychologically.
Loss of adaptation then leads to widespread dysfunction that makes a person a vulnerable for chronic diseases such as chronic fatigue syndrome, mold illness, chronic Lyme fibromyalgia, autoimmunity, etc., to take hold..
The neurological system enters a constant state of distress when dysfunction continues without being fixed.

An ongoingly agitated nervous system causes dysfunction and messes up the body's ability to react to a person's attempts at recovery. It also feeds into negative emotional states like depression and anxiety.
From this, a vicious cycle of stress and illness develops. Phase One:
